Kudu Ridge Game Lodge have an archaeologist, Matt Lotter who is doing his PhD staying at the lodge. He has various excavation sites in the Addo and Kirkwood area and has found Kudu Ridge Game ranch to be rich in stone age artifacts from his period of interest. The Acheulian era which is early stone age stretching from 1,5 million to 200 thousand years ago. The Kudu Ridge Game farm is also extremely rich in Ancient fossils, making the bush walks and guided game drives a historical paradise.

Matt plans to do leave an open excavation pit on Kudu Ridge as an area of interest for our guests, where visitors can can view the Archaeology Dig and stone age artifacts.
