Top 5 Eastern Cape Safari Sightings

Addo Lion

Young Lions: Alex spotted Jill, a young lioness, following her brother Jack at Carol’s Rest. These two roam freely in the northern section of Addo Elephant National Park.

Black-Backed Jackal: Alex and his guests spotted this jackal marking his territory around Hapoor Dam in the Addo Elephant National Park.

Lion: These top predators are special safari sightings as there are less than 20,000 lions remaining in the wild. This lion is nicknamed “Duffy” and he is taking a nap after a good meal.

Addo Jackal Buzzard

Jackal Buzzard: A beautifully captured sighting of a jackal buzzard in mid-flight on a cool day in the Eastern Cape.

Lioness: The red tinge on this lioness is from a recent red hartbeest kill.

Christian and Jasmin stayed with us recently at Kudu Ridge Game Lodge and left us this great feedback about their visit and their Eastern Cape guided safari tour:

Kudu Ridge is such a nice place to stay. Everything was just great: the food, the atmosphere, the surrounding, the people. We had a great time and the game drive in Addo with Alex was amazing – he’s very nice and caring and has a very good knowledge about the animals, the nature etc. Also Brian and his wife were so nice and relaxed! Thank you so much guys! Everything was perfect.” Christian & Jasmin.
