Visitors planning to visit Addo Elephant National Park during their stay at Kudu Ridge Game Lodge [link] need to show photo identification.

This announcement was made by Addo Elephant National Park management:

“With immediate effect all guests entering into AENP (Addo Elephant National Park) will have to provide proof of identity. Guests entering on open game viewers, closed vehicles and self drives all need to have either passports, identification documents or a driver’s license with them.

Addo Elephant National Park Gate Access

Addo Elephant National Park management also announced that visitors to the National Park are not allowed to exit through the gates along the district/municipal road. This road runs across the middle of the park from west to east. The west gate exit joins the R335 through Addo town and the east gate exit leads to the N10. This road is used for passers-through and is not available as an exit route for visitors to the Addo Elephant National Park. Visitors are required to exit and sign out through the official Addo Elephant National Park gates.

Office and gate hours:

  • North Gate  – Main Camp: 07h00 to 19h00 daily
  • South Gate – Matyholweni: 07h00 to 17h00 daily. Gate is open until 18h30.
